“It is not the strength of your faith but the object of your faith that actually saves you.” —Timothy Keller
In a world full of confusing messages and endless options, it’s easy to feel like you’re wandering through a maze, trying to find the right path. We all long for a trustworthy compass and a clear set of guidelines to navigate life’s complexities. The amazing news is that, as followers of Jesus, we have access to the ultimate source of wisdom—the very mind of Christ, available to us through the indwelling presence of His Spirit.
The Bible promises that if we lack wisdom, all we need to do is ask God, and He will give it generously, without finding fault (James 1:5). Yet how often do we ignore this incredible gift, relying instead on our own limited understanding or the world’s flawed perspectives?
How often do we make choices based on fear, pride, or temporary pleasure, rather than seeking the guidance of the One who knows the end from the beginning?
In the next few newsletters, we will focus on wisdom, and we’re going to explore what it means to cultivate a lifestyle of supernatural wisdom—the kind that flows not just from human intellect or experience but from a deep, abiding connection with the heart and mind of God.
We’ll discover the transformative power of immersing ourselves in His Word, learning to discern the whispers of His Spirit, and boldly acting on the revelation we receive. As we embark on this journey, the first step is to acknowledge our desperate need for divine wisdom. We must humbly admit the limitations of our own understanding and surrender our agendas to the One whose thoughts and ways are infinitely higher than ours (Isaiah 55:9).
We must approach His throne of grace with confidence, trusting that He delights in giving wisdom to those who ask in faith.
My prayer is that, as you engage with the principles and practices in this wisdom study, you’ll experience a fresh hunger for the wisdom that comes from above. May you discover the joy of aligning your decisions and desires with God’s perfect will.
At the core of cultivating supernatural wisdom is a deep reverence for and commitment to the Word of God. The Scriptures aren’t just a collection of ancient stories or moral teachings; they are the very breath of God, alive and active, sharper than any double-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12).
Through the pages of the Bible, we gain access to the mind and heart of our Creator, discovering His character, purposes, and ways.
In a world full of noise and confusion, God’s Word shines like a beacon of truth, illuminating the way to wisdom. It offers the most reliable guidance for every decision we face, every relationship we navigate, and every challenge we encounter.
To tap into the wisdom of God’s Word, we must make a daily habit of meditating on its truths. This involves more than just casual reading or intellectual study; it requires a posture of humility, expectancy, and submission.
As we approach the Scriptures, let’s pray for the Holy Spirit to open our eyes and ears to the specific insights and applications He has for us!
