Rest Renews Your Strength And Creates Margins In Life.
“There remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God.”
— Hebrews 4:9
The Blessing of Regular Sabbath Rest
Do you ever just collapse when your week finally ends? Please know this: God desires you to regularly experience intentional Sabbath rest, not just exhaustion. Set boundaries so you may pause for rest.
According to Exodus 20, God commands us to “remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God.”
When Jesus lived on earth, He modeled taking time away from ministry to rest and refuel. Mark 6:31 says, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.”
By resting, we declare that we trust God to sustain the world without our effort for 24 hours. Sabbath-keeping honors God’s design for living in rhythm.
Guard a Sabbath routine that restores your soul.
Disconnect from technology and connect with God’s creation and loved ones.
You’ll gain an eternal perspective when you regularly pause to rest.
As the saying goes, “The magic happens in the margins.” If you don’t create margins, that is, space to breathe, your life will become dull, monotonous, and stifling. Discoveries and creativity emerge from the margins you create intentionally.
Receive this gift of rest God offers you each week. You’ll live and work from a place of refreshment and delight.
One Big Take-away
Discuss practically implementing Sabbath rest with your family or roommates and calendar it.
